Originally manufactured solely for Cuba’s highest-ranking government officials and Communist party leaders, Cohiba Cigars are now a popular choice among tobacco connoisseurs. We stock a wide variety of Cohiba Cigars, all produced to the highest standards from tobacco grown in top-secret Cuban plantations. Cuaba

Cuaba cigars are a brand of Cuban cigar that has long been enjoyed and savoured by cigar aficionados all over the globe. The name Cuaba itself comes from a Taino Indian word, a term used to describe a combustible brush that was once used to light ‘cohibas’, meaning tobacco. Cuaba cigars are especially popular due to how distinctive they look and how uniquely they smoke when compared to other Cubans. A Cuaba is generally instantly recognisable due to its special shape. The cigars are styled into a “double figurado”, which was a style favoured historically in the nineteenth century, when cigars first became more widely popular. Cuaba was revived as a brand in 1996, now making their famous cigars in the renowned Romeo y Julieta factory in Havana – no doubt about it, this is a cigar brand steeped in history. Today, Cuaba is considered a premium brand, offering exceptional cigars for astute connoisseurs. Those looking to buy Cuaba cigars online need look no further than Platinum Coast Cigars, who offer Cuaba cigars online as well as in their cigar bar and shop in Barbados.

Smoking a Cuaba is a notably different experience to other cigars, as the initial few puffs on the Cuaba allow the smoker to merely taste the flavours of the tobacco wrapper, a flavour that often blends into the background of the tobacco filler. This process allows smokers to appreciate the subtle flavours of the wrapper, providing a sort of appetiser before the flavours going on to develop into the rich tobacco filling.

The main Cuaba blend has a medium to full body just as Havana’s most famous cigars, making it slightly less accessible than other lighter cigars and best suited to the seasoned smoker. Each cigar is made of incredibly high quality filler and binder, ideal for savouring while you put your feet up. The cigars are made with Tripa Larga and Totalmente a Mano leaves which have been especially grown in Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo region. Buying Cuaba cigars as a gift is a fantastic way to share Cuba’s history and traditions with friends. Platinum Coast Cigars is proud to sell Cuaba cigars, allowing smokers to experience such rich and full-bodied Cuban flavour.

The double figurado shape is representative of the fine art of cigar-making, making a Cuaba a desirable addition to any connoisseur’s collection. The initial cigars produced when the brand was first established in 1996 are often seen to have an uneven shape, this is due to them being made without the use of a cigar mould and these cigars are now valuable collector’s items. In 1996 Cuaba also began with smaller-sized cigars, however since 2003 Cuaba produce larger vitolas such as the Salomon, the Diadema and the Distinguido, which are all part of their standard range. Platinum Coast Cigars are proudly selling Cuaba cigars, allowing aficionados and newcomers alike to smoke cigar that has a rich history within Cuba’s cigar culture.

H Upmann

H. Upmann is a premium cigar brand, first produced on the island of Cuba by the state-owned tobacco company Habanos SA. H. Upmann is widely regarded as one of the oldest cigar brands in existence, first established in 1843 by German businessman Hermann Dietrich Upmann after he paid a visit to Cuba. The cigar factory and business eventually ended up in the hands of brothers Hermann and Alberto, keeping the business within the original Upmann family. To this day, the H. Upmann brand still upholds these strong family values and their long history and traditions are present in each product. Despite Hermann Upmann’s German nationality, the brand H. Upmann very much has its roots in Cuba and brand is a celebration of the island’s longstanding tradition of the Cuban cigar. Buying H. Upmann cigars as a gift is a great way to share Cuba’s great traditions, flavours and history with friends and loved ones, especially with a brand that has such strong family values.

H. Upmann cigars are a fine example of a classic and traditional Cuban cigar, delivering a delicious light to medium bodied Habano. Unlike many cigar brands who blend Cuban tobacco with filler from elsewhere, H. Upmann uses a blend of tobacco that is made entirely of filler and binder tobaccos grown especially for the purpose of cigars in Cuba’s renowned Vuelta Abajo region.

H. Upmann cigars are generally characterised by their mellow light to medium flavours, while still delivering all of the rich earthiness Cuban cigars are known for.

Many of the blends offer notes of coffee, earth, cedar, honey, nutmeg, cream and more, their lightness makes them particularly accessible as opposed to the more full-bodied, strong, heavy wood blends. H. Upmann cigars are elegant and refined, an ideal addition to any serious connoisseur’s collection.

Amongst the H. Upmann blends and sizes, some of the best known are the Magnum 50 and Magnum 46, along with the Connoisseur No. 1, Sir Winston, Half Corona and Junior Corona. The heavier gauge Magnum range in 2008 has helped keep the brand at the height of popularity, providing complex yet light flavours that can be enjoyed day or night.

The lasting power of H. Upmann as one of the oldest brands in the industry is a testament to its excellence. Platinum Coast Cigars are proud to be selling H. Upmann cigars so that even more people can smoke cigar and experience the same excellence.

Jose L Piedra

Jose L Piedra is a Cuban cigar brand with a huge amount of history behind the development of one of the most popular cigar companies today. The Piedra family were of Spanish descent, but immigrated to Cuba in the 1880s, settled in the Santa Clara region and began to make cigars. The Santa Clara region of Cuba was well-known for its association with snuff production, but it is also known for its tobacco which has been produced in the Remedios region since the 1500s.

José Lamadrid Piedra was from the second generation of the Piedra family and is the one who established the Jose L Piedra brand we know and love today. Although the brand is not generally considered to be the finest or most luxurious, it is extremely popular as a domestic Cuban product due to its quality, consistency and affordability. We sell Jose L Piedra cigars alongside a wide range of other premium cigars, so whether you are looking to purchase cigars in-store or are buying Jose L Piedra cigars online – there is no need to look any further! You can even smoke cigars in our bespoke smoking deck, custom-built to provide our clients with the ultimate relaxing smoking experience. If you are looking for a cigars shop in Barbados that sells the largest variety of CubanBarbadosNicaraguanDominican Republic and Honduras cigars than Platinum Coast Cigars is your first stop.

Jose L Piedra is notable in that it exclusively uses filler tobacco from the Remedios region of Cuba and engages in a practise called ‘Totalmente a Mano, Tripa Corta’ which roughly translates to ‘Completely hand made short filler method’. This method is no longer as popular with other cigar companies as it is much more expensive than relying on machines to complete certain parts of cigar production. However, the Jose L. Piedra method allows for consistency across production, especially because all filler tobacco comes from the same location and has been subject to the same climate and storage conditions. Jose L Piedra cigars are the go-to cigar brand for the Cuban working man (or woman). They are full of rich Cuban aromas and provide a consistently even burn with a very food draw. Some of the most popular Jose L Piedra cigars include the Brevas 5’s, Cazadores 5’s and the Conservas 5’s – all of which are available in our cigar bar and shop in Barbados.

We specialise in selling Jose L Piedra cigars and can provide advice about buying Jose L Piedra cigars as a gift or for yourself. https://platinumcoastcigars.net/

Montecristo

Montecristo is one of the most respected and recognised cigar brands in the world. Established in Cuba in the summer of 1935, the Montecristo cigar company was named after every cigar roller’s favourite book: The Count of Montecristo. Cuban cigar rollers during the late 1800s and early 1900s were mostly illiterate, so many factories hired lectors to read stories to employees while they went about their work. Alexander Dumas’ famous tale about injustice and revenge struck a chord on the cigar rolling floor, and so when Alonso Menendez decided to rename his newly purchased Cuban Particulares factory – Montecristo was an obvious choice. The original Montecristo cigar range consisted of only 1 cigar in 5 differing sizes, which are still available today. The Montecristo No.2 and No.4 are widely considered two of the best cigars ever made, with the No.2 being the cigar to which all other cigars are compared against! The No.2 is known for its rich flavour, consisting of wood and spice, and it is mostly enjoyed by those who like their cigars to have a dark and powerful character.

Montecristo cigars are known for their superior taste and quality as much as their style and history. In fact, the Montecristo No.4 was the most popular and bestselling cigar on the market for many years. Although more recently others have overtaken the popularity of Montecristo No.4 (such as the Partagás Serie D No. 4s), the No.4 is still considered to be one of the richest and luxurious cigar experiences on the market.

After the Cuban revolution and the nationalisation of the cigar industry, many companies were forced to leave Cuba if they wanted to make money from selling their cigars.

Montecristo moved to the Canary Islands in 1961 but failed to relaunch after continued logistical problems. In 1971, the owner of Montecristo, Alonso Menendez, successfully re-established the brand in the Dominican Republic where it still produces cigars today.

In 2004, a new range of Montecristo cigars was released including the Edmundo which was named after the hero of the Count of Monte Cristo, Edmundo Dantas Conde. In 2011 a new line of cigars was added to the Montecristo range ‘The Montecristo Open’ which was designed to appeal to those with an active and adventurous spirit. The Montecristo Open range contains cigars named after popular sports such as golf, rowing and yachting such as the Junior, Master, Eagle and Regatta.

If you are looking to buy Montecristo Cigars online whether for yourself or as a gift for the cigar connoisseur – look no further than Platinum Coast Cigars! We stock a wide range of Montecristo cigars as well as providing a relaxing and luxurious environment to enjoy them.

Partagas

The Partagas brand has its origins in 1845 Havana, creating a brand that is entrenched in rich Cuban history and culture. Today, despite the cigars now being made in the Dominican Republic, Partagas continues to remain faithful to their Cuban roots. Each cigar is carefully handmade and steeped in traditional Cuban flavours and aromas. Throughout their history, Partagas cigars have been regular bestsellers, and often referred to as some of the best in the world – and their popularity is no mystery, these Cuban cigars are the real deal.

Whether browsing to buy Partagas cigars online, or planning on buying Partagas cigars as a gift, the brand offers a wide range of cigars in different formats and with subtle variations in aroma and flavour. Partagas are known for the exceptionally rich flavour of their cigars, and offer some of the most highly-rated Cuban blends. Generally, the natural flavours present across the board of Partagas products are the sweet taste of natural tobacco, woody cedar and multi-layered earthiness. All of the cigars offered by Partagas are smooth to smoke and not overpowering on the palette, allowing them to be enjoyed at any time of day. We sell Partagas cigars so that you can enjoy a taste of nineteenth century Cuba.

Partagas is one of the oldest cigar brands on the market, and we have long been selling Partagas cigars due to their strong reputation of traditional values and reliability for delivering a top-quality product.

One of the most well-known blends from the Partagas brand is the Serie D No. 4, a blend that was first introduced in the 1930s.

This complex Habanos delivers smooth and creamy flavours, pleasing the senses with sweet honey and fresh cedar notes, a refined sweet and earthy smoking experience that can last up to 90 minutes. The Serie D No. 5 allows smokers to enjoy all of the rich and complex flavours of the D No. 4, albeit in a shorter format of around 20 minutes. The Serie D No. 6 is the shortest in the entire Partagas line, delivering that iconic Partagas flavour that has become so distinctive and recognisable.

Outside of the Partagas Serie D, Partagas also offers Serie P No. 2, Mille Fleur, Super Partagas, Serie E No. 2 and Culebra. Each of them offering a bold and traditional taste of Cuba, delivering exquisite levels of quality, and a truly authentic experience that allows you to relax and unwind.

Platinum Coast Cigars offers the largest variety of cigars in Barbados, and is proud to offer a large range of high quality Partagas cigars in their shop and available to buy online. The online shop allows you to enjoy the experience of the Platinum Coast Cigars cigar bar and shop in Barbados, in the comfort of your own home. When you smoke a cigar from Partagas, you can expect excellence.

Punch

Punch is a Cuban cigar brand with a long history dating back to 1840, where it was established by Stockmann who named it after the famous Mr Punch from the Punch and Judy shows which legendarily take place at the British seaside.

The company was taken over by Manuel Lopez Fernández and although it has since been sold a resold, it is Fernandez’s name which can be seen on the cigar bands and boxes to this day. The owners of the brand decided to cater for a specifically British palate which is why for many years the line featured images of Mr Punch on their boxes and in their advertisements.

Like most Cuban cigar companies, Punch suffered during the Cuban revolution and the subsequent nationalisation of the cigar and tobacco industry within Cuba. The new owner of Punch, Fernando Palicio fled from Cuba to Florida and sold his company, knowing that he could not go back to Cuba and continue making cigars under the current nationalisation of cigar making.

The company was taken over by new owners but maintained its focus on its British clientele, which is where it is still most successful.

Punch cigars are known for their no-nonsense, bold flavour and medium to full strength.

Although it is possible for new cigar smokers to enjoy a Punch cigar, buying Punch cigars as a gift may not be the best idea unless you are sure the recipient has already developed a taste for the full-bodied flavour of Punch’s luxurious and well-respected line of cigars.

Punch is well known for its uncompromising flavours and its enigmatic aroma, perfect for smoking through the evening whilst contemplating life with a glass of whisky and a friend. Punch’s Double Corona is one of the bestselling double coronas on the market, and at 7 5/8″ long it is easy to see why, with a full 90-minute (or more) smoking time! We also sell other Punch cigars in their range, including the treasured Punch 48 and the Coronation, which means that deciding between our expertly curated collection of cigars will likely make it difficult for you to ever leave our shop!

We sell Punch cigars at our cigar bar and shop in Barbados, so pop in today to find out how to choose and buy Punch cigars online for you or a loved one. Our experts can help you choose which Punch cigars may be most suitable for your palate, whether you are a novice or an aficionado. Although selling Punch cigars is our passion, we also have a relaxing bar where you can enjoy passing the time with a drink and smoking on our deck.

Ramon Allones

One of the most famous names in Habanos history, as well as one of the oldest Cuban cigar companies still in production to this day, Ramon Allones was founded in 1837 and named after its founder. Ramon Allones is known to be the first ever cigar brand to package his cigars in boxes that were stamped and labelled with the brand name and emblem using colourful lithographs. This was the very beginning of the packaging traditions that are still used for our cigars today, representing what an important part of Cuban cigar history Ramon Allones really was. After over a century and a half since the brand’s creation, the brand’s robust tobacco blends once favoured by its founder are still in full production. The brands unique place in Cuba’s culture and history makes buying Ramon Allones cigars as a gift a thoughtful way to share the island’s vibrant flavours and traditions with friends and loved ones. Platinum Coast Cigars are proud to sell Ramon Allones cigars, allowing you to buy Ramon Allones cigars online or in their cigar bar and shop in Barbados.
Ramon Allones cigars are packed full of high quality filler and binder tobacco leaves that have been picked especially from Cuba’s renowned Vuelta Abajo region, where tobacco leaves are grown especially for the purpose of cigars.
These specific tobacco leaves are characterised by rich and complex flavours, often leading to a more intense cigar smoke. The complete range of Ramon Allones cigars are composed of Tripa Larga, Totalmente a mano, each cigar is entirely hand made. Robust, full flavours dominate across the entire line of product.

The most popular Ramon Allones sizes include the Gigantes and the Specially Selected. Gigantes is a classic yet complex Habanos, balancing the strong tobacco with light floral aromas, making this cigar ideal for daytime relaxation. While Specially Selected offers a spicy and earthy Robusto with a deeply complex core of nuts, wood, coffee and more.

Lastly, the Small Club Corona delivers a lighter and more mellow amalgamation of flavours in a shorter smoking format, with key notes of cream, toffee and delicious caramel. Platinum Coast Cigars are proud to be selling Ramon Allones Cigars, a brand deeply rooted in Cuba’s history that continues to maintain popularity year after year.

Romeo Y Julieta

Romeo Y Julieta is the name of two brands of cigar, now produced in Cuba and the Dominican Republic. The Romeo Y Julieta brand has a long and distinguished history, having been founded in 1875 by Manin Garcia and Inocencio Alvarez. The pair named the brand after Shakespeare’s famous lovers, and between 1885 and 1900 these exquisite cigars won countless prizes for their taste.

The brand was eventually acquired by pioneering tobacconist José Rodriguez Fernandez, once head of the famous Cabañas factory. Under his leadership, the brand exploded in popularity and became incredibly sought-after by wealthier clients who were soon demanding personalised cigar bands for their favourite smokes. At the height of production, it’s estimated that Romeo Y Julieta were sending out more than 2,000 personalised cigars every year. To help build his brand, Fernandez travelled widely across Europe and the Americas on promotional tours which boosted sales exponentially and helped make Romeo Y Julieta one of the world’s most well-known and well-loved of cigar brands.

Platinum Coast Cigars is proud to sell Romeo Y Julieta cigars, and we stock the widest range of products from this iconic brand.

With smoking times varying from twenty minutes to an hour, these cigars are characterised by their rich, earthy undertones and full-bodied flavours, making them a delight to smoke. San Cristobal de la Habana

San Cristobal de la Habana is a brand of cigars that takes its name from the original name of Havana, first being introduced into production in 1999 on the precipice of the new Millennium. San Cristobal de la Habana cigars were first introduced as a cultural tribute to Cuba’s great capital Havana, and all of the long and rich history it has cultivated. Despite first being introduced as a limited edition Millennium celebration product, San Cristobal de la Habana has continued to produce top quality cigars in its line, filled with rich and traditional flavours. Although the brand has been producing cigars for over 20 years, it is still considered a more niche Cuban cigar brand favoured by a circle of devoted followers. Platinum Coast Cigars are proud to sell San Cristobal de la Habana cigars, allowing even more people the chance to smoke cigar from this unique and authentically Cuban brand. Buying San Cristobal de la Habana cigars as a gift are also a great way to share Cuban culture and traditions with friends.

In terms of the flavour and body of San Cristobal de la Habana cigars, the brand often attracts those who might find Cuban cigars from other popular cigar brands too strong or overpowering. San Cristobal de la Habana cigars are equally as rich and flavoursome as other Cuban cigars, however their light to medium body and flavours may make them a little more palatable to newcomers.

Cigars from the San Cristobal de la Habana brand are made completely by hand, in-keeping with traditional Cuban practices, and using high quality tobacco leaves that have been grown for this purpose in Cuba. The filler and binder leaves present in the cigars come from Cuba’s tobacco zone, Vuelta Abajo. The mellow flavours and complex aromatic qualities present in these cigars come from mixing dried flowers and delicate tobacco.

When the San Cristobal de la Habana brand was first established for the Millennium celebration, the range originally included just four vitolas. These four cigar blends were EL Morro, La Fuerza, La Punta and El Principe. Each of these four vitolas were named after the sixteenth and eighteenth century fortresses that defended Havana during the Spanish American empire, adding further to the brand’s celebration of Cuban history and tradition. In 2004, the brand added three additional cigar sizes to its collection, hence solidifying its permanence. These three cigars were named after the vibrant streets of Havana’s Old Town; Muralla, Mercaderes and Oficios.

If you are looking to buy San Cristobal de la Habana cigars online, Platinum Coast Cigars are proud to be selling San Cristobal cigars on their website as well as the cigar bar and shop in Barbados.

Sancho Panza

The Sancho Panza name takes its inspiration from the great literary work Don Quixote, the seventeenth century Spanish novel by Miguel de Cevantes. The brand is in good company, as other renowned Habano brands such as Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta also take their names from famous literary characters, Sancho Panza being the faithful squire to the novel’s aberrant knight. The name was originally registered by Don Emilio Ohmsted in 1848 and the factory was established in Havana. Sancho Panza’s first Habano was also produced in 1848, and the brand has continued to uphold the highest levels of Cuban culture and quality ever since. In 1960, the Sancho Panza brand was nationalised, leading the cigars to be produced by Habanos S.A., as they still are today. The great history behind this brand and its firm place in Cuba’s culture make buying Sancho Panza cigars as a gift a great way to share the island’s traditions with friends and loved ones. Platinum Coast Cigars are proud to be selling Sancho Panza cigars, whether for shared or solitary enjoyment.

The Sancho Panza cigars offer the smoker a medium body, delivering classic Cuban flavours in a mellower format. The Molino cigar is a blend that stays most true to the old style Habanos, offering strong tobacco flavours with hints of pepper, wood, cocoa, coffee and spice.

It’s a cigar that most aficionados prefer to savour, relaxing into each new flavour as it develops. The Belicocos blend is mild and soft on the palette, delivering salty, spicy and peppery flavours in a smooth and creamy smoke. While the Sancho blend, wrapped immaculately in a delectably oily wrapper, serves the palette with rich nutty and woody flavours. The high quality and complex flavours present in these Habanos are what has led this boutique Cuban brand to have a niche but exceptionally loyal following.

Sancho Panza’s range now encompasses three vitolas. The first of which is the Molino or mill, made in the Cervantes size, along with the Sanchos range which is notable due to its longer measurement, and the Belicosos range that is characterised by the shaped head. All of Sancho Panza’s sizes are Tripa Larga, Totalmente a Mano, and each are completely hand made as per the traditional Cuban processes. All of the blends are packed full of a medium-bodied blend of binder and filler tobacco which has been chosen especially from Cuba’s renowned Vuelta Abajo region where it is grown. If you are looking to smoke cigar of a high quality, you can buy Sancho Panza cigars online, look no further than Platinum Coast Cigars who sell Sancho Panza cigars on their website as well as in their cigar bar and shop in Barbados.

Trinidad

Trinidad is one of Cuba’s best-kept secrets when it comes to premium Cuban cigars. Trinidad is known for its small, well-curated, luxury cigars enjoyed by the world’s bankers, politicians and business people. Established in 1969, in a factory in Havana, Trinidad cigars were exclusively available as for diplomatic purposes and were not available for public sale until 1998!

Buying Trinidad cigars as gifts or for oneself was all but impossible until 1998, as they could only be given as diplomatic gifts by Cuban officials. It was reported by the Cigar Aficionado in 1992, that Trinidad cigars were an extremely premium brand that only Castro himself was authorised to smoke and give away to diplomats and politicians. However, boxes of Trinidad cigars could occasionally be found at an auction where cigars were sold for between $400 and $700 per individual cigar! In 2003, Trinidad hosted a black-tie dinner where they celebrated the 50th anniversary of their brand by launching three new vitolas (sizes) within the Trinidad brand: the Reyes, Robusto Extra and the Coloniale. Unusually, Trinidad cigars are typically packaged boxes of 24 (not the standard 25) and boxes of 50, although individual cigars are available on the market as well.

Two of the most well-known Trinidad cigars available on the open market are Reyes and Virgia. Trinidad Reyes cigars are appreciated for their woody, yet sweet flavours which contain undernotes of cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate and vanilla.

We also sell Trinidad Virgia cigars, which provide a nuttier aftertaste with notes of truffle – the ultimate in luxury. All of our Trinidad cigars are specially chosen to appeal to the well-developed palates of experienced cigar smokers. However, we can also help recommend which cigars will be most suitable if you are a newcomer to the world of cigars or Cuban cigars in particular.

If you smoke cigars, then you can’t go far wrong with Cuba’s most mysterious and elusive cigar brand and manufacturer. The quality of packaging and flavour, as well as the consistency of rolling and burn, meaning that you will always get a smooth, even burn from beginning to end. Buying Trinidad cigars as a gift will always be well-received, as ever cigar aficionado will appreciate the history and exclusivity associated with the Trinidad brand.

At Platinum Coast Cigars, we specialise in providing clients with an optimum environment for perusing premium cigars, but we also offer a space to enjoy smoking newly purchased cigars in our cigar bar and shop in Barbados.

Our smoking deck is the perfect place to smoke a beautiful Trinidad cigar whilst watching the world go by and contemplating when you will buy Trinidad cigars online again because you can never have enough!
